Default Switching from Enterprise on Bold 9700

Please Login to Remove!

hi,

I am a Blackberry newbie!

My brother has just given me a Blackberry Bold 9700. He previously used it for work so it was set up as an 'Enterprise' handset using the servers etc of his company.

I just want to set it up and use it as a personal phone with access to my personal e-mail.

When I go to the 'Email Setup Wizard' the only option I have is;
"I want to use a work email account with a Blackberry Enterprise Server"

I don't have the instruction book but I get the impression that when you first set up the phone you chose between 'Enterprise' and 'Personal'......?

Is it possible to COMPLETELY re-set the device or swap/switch away from Enterprise...?

Many thanks in advance,
Dominic

YOU need a blackberry data plan on YOUR account.
Vodafone don't offer Blackberry data plans on PAYG.

If it was added to their companies BES you might also need to completely wipe the device to remove the security polices that might have been set on the device.

They are talking about a different wipe; however like I said originally:

YOU need a blackberry data plan on YOUR account.
Vodafone don't offer Blackberry data plans on PAYG.

Without a blackberry data plan, the "add personal account" option will NOT show.

You need to remove the IT Policy from the device if it was set up on BES.

From the FAQ: Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ
