I'm not saying there isn't some cases of incompatability, because I really don't know. But, just my experience, if you are having trouble, go back over everything with your setup very carefully with the strong belief that you have messed up somewhere. In my experience I really would tend to think that's the problem and not the device.
Like I said, In my case I had to assume it was a hardware problem since I made every attempt to isolate the problem elsewhere
-UMA on same router tested successfully on 2 other devices
-Device wiped and reloaded with latest OS
-Router rebooted and loaded with latest updates
-tested on other routers
-router tested under different security protocols
-device tested without aftermarket software
-new SIM card
I'd say that's setting up very carefully thinking I may have messed something up.
It was actually after I went to TMO support and they gave up that I got the new phone that works perfectly with UMA. The purpose of my original post was to see if this was an isolated incident (which it appears to be) or a possibly wider spread hardware/software problem which it appears not to be.
