Default Visual Voice Mail on WIFI?

Please Login to Remove!

I might have to go to a remote area where I won't have wireless coverage. But I should have WIFI capability.

Since I won't have the ability to receive phone calls, or access traditional voicemail, is there any chance that the Visual Voicemail notice and recorded message will continue to appear in my In Box over WIFI only?

You'll receive your Visual Voicemails.

Try it. Turn off your Mobile Network connection and connect to your wireless network. Not only will you continue to receive your phone calls but also your emails, visual voicemails, etc.

Thanks, Garran. You had the sense to construct an experiment, which I should have thought of! However, with the mobile network turned off and the wireless network engaged and operational, I was unable to receive a phone call or any kind of Voicemail notification.

My guess is that this is a (big) difference between your carrier and mine.

garran's carrier(t-mobile) has UMA which allows for voice calls via wifi. AT&T does not have this feature.
