Default Sms Messages

Hi! I'm new on this block and hope my BB9700 issues would be resolved. Sometime back, I got a notification that a software update was available and I diligently accepted the upgrade. After the usual reboot et al,I found out that my sms messaging had been messed up. I discovered that my sms messages was not coming out in chat form to individual recipients. For messages to be delivered to the intended recipient, I have to delete all previous messages and have the page that says 'no messages before I can send messages to a fresh recipient (say Bob). Subsequently, all other messages I intend to send to other recipients are delivered to Bob instead of the recipients I selected. Additionally,SMS messages to many is no longer possible as the message is sent only to the first recipient in the trail. Can someone tell me what is wrong or tell me how to correct this. I have a software version 5.0.0.423.

I normally send SMSs by going to my contacts, select the contact I want to send to. Then I press the menu button and choose "SMS <Contact Name>".

Are you saying that this doesn't work?

If not, try to rollback to the previous software version or if that is not possible, load the latest software via USB cable:

Many thanks. Was able to download a new software from AT&T and pronto, my BB SMS was back on line. This forum is 'da bomb'.
