Check the yellow sticky at the top of the 9700 section for the latest OS for your device.
Cannot comment on the keypad issue as I do not have a 9700, but I would assume that they are all made the same. RIM has pretty good quality control.
This is bull!!! Blackberry Messenger didnt properly work when I first opened it, so I downloaded the newer version on the website and app world reseted the phone and now I can't even access it it says "app error 523 reset "....???
