I'm running OS6 on my 9700. I'm sure in OS5 there was an option to automatically turn on USB support when it was plugged into a computer, but OS6 no longer has that option. Did they move it somewhere else, or remove it entirely?

Reason I ask is that when I plug it into a PC, I always want it to be a USB drive. And when I plug it into my Ford Sync, I always want it to be a USB drive.

I think you're talking about enabling Mass Storage Mode. Under OS5 that option is found in options:memory. Not sure where it is in OS6, but I'm sure someone else will jump in here with that info.

Yes, that sounds right. They've totally changed the Options menu in OS6, that same screen is now found under Options, Device, Storage. The only options on this screen are:

Enable Compression (on or off)
Media Card Support (on or off)

Check the box next to media card support. Then plug in your device and choose USB Drive from the three choices (USB, Sync, Charge only) which is now mass storage mode prompt.

That's exactly what the OP is trying to avoid.

You're right. I misunderstood him to mean he didn't know how to get mass storage running with USB.
