Default Another 9700 headset issue

I've been reading that some people have issues with the 9700 thinking a headset is plugged in when there isn't one, but I have a user in my company with the opposite issue. It does not always detect that there is a headset plugged in when there is.

Whenever a call is placed or received (with the headset already plugged in), he has to go to the phone menu and select Activate Headset. It works for the remainder of the call, but when a call comes in again, he has to select this again from the menu. My understanding is it should stay on headset mode as long as the headset is connected.

I was unable to reproduce this on another 9700 so I wonder if there is a hardware problem with his or maybe just a setting somewhere. On the one I tested it always defaulted to headset mode as long as it was connected.

Any advice?

Yes, go Bluetooth and forget about the wired headset - easiest way to get rid of the issue in any case.

This is fixed. Turned out he was using a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter with a 2.5mm headset. Once he used a proper 3.5mm headset it began working.
