Hello my fellow bold 9780blackberry users, pls how can I change my browser setting from browsing with wap browser to internet browser as in d case of a curve 8820 which I previously used. Because I noticed that this option is not available on the browsing setting of my bold 9780. As a result I still get charged for browsing anytime I use the phone browser even though I have subscribed and browsing is now suppose to b free.

Browser selection is automatic with OS 6. What you knew before no longer exists.

Do you have a wap browser icon as well as the BlackBerry browser icon?

Thanks man, but again I noticed that when am listening to music without my earpiece and I get a ping d music stops. Pls is there a way to deactivate this function.

Try a hard reset. When that happens to me on 9700 with OS 5 a soft reset fixes it. If the hard reset fixes it for you, try a soft reset or double soft reset next time.

Once again thanks, back to the browser topic, I can only see one browser icon which I guest is the wap browser.

Do you have a BlackBerry data plan and is it active on that BlackBerry? If you do not have the BlackBerry browser icon, that may be the explanation. Or, the BlackBerry browser icon may be hidden.

If you pay extra for carrier data and you have the carrier apn configured in TCP/IP options, you may want to clear that setting. The downside, however, is you won't be anle to use apps that need it.

I had the same issue with my BB9780. Am with Vodafone carrier. I had big time issues with the service provider becos I was charged for my usage since I was browsing with the WAP browser and was unable to switch it to BB browser. After big fight there came the answer. U need to go to OPTIONS>DEVICE>ADVANCE SYSTEM SETTINGS>SERVICE BOOK> inside this kindly delete the option which you are charged for. In my case its called 'Vodafone Live'. Then onwards you can browse on BB browser. And you will not be charged. This is the only solution.
