My brand new Bold freezes so that randomly I can't scoll down to read messages or scroll up to see who is copied on the e-mail. Another example: I can't move to the "location" field to insert the location of a meeting. In some cases I can't even type a question mark.

Other random stuff: I set the bold so that "Alt O" would list my outgoing messages. It worked for a while but then stopped working.

The entire experience is very disappointing. Do I have a lemon or is this the sad experience with the Bold.

Is it a complete system freeze or is it just an inability to scroll down?
Are you receiving an hourglass or rotating clock?
Have you tried a battery pull?
Have you tried upgrading to the newest OS Version?

I had a similar type of experience (well, it seems similar) with my new Bold 9780. I had no issues with my 9700 running OS5 but never upgraded to OS6. Not sure if the 9700s now ship with OS6, but I found a lot of freezing or stalling with this 9780 and OS6. It went away after a day or two and after a few reboots. Personally I think its an OS6 issue but what do I know?

As for the ALT-O thing, I have no opinion or advice on that as I have never used that type of function.

My bold had this alt scroll problem,it would only scroll on some screens if I held down the alt button, but it's been in a toilet and a sink full of water, so I'd assumed I'd just have to deal with it. I decided to take that top cover off after reading a few things here and found out that the little ball sticker thing to lock the phone was way out of place. I cleaned it up under there and put the ball back in place and it is working fine now! I have to say, I love this phone. Had one before that flew out a car window on a highway and still worked fine!
