I need help fixing a 9700.
The trackpad doesn't go up,down, left, right. It only works to select when I press down but all the other keys work fine and the phone can make calls, etc.
The device has been replaced but the original device has very important photos, word docs, and other files stored directly on the onboard memory. No memory card was used and it may be important to note that BES email was activated.
I remoted in to the user's desktop and plugged in the old 9700. He put only battery back in the old broken phone and connected to his desktop. I was able to browse the device with Desktop Manager and quickly did a CTRL-C on the /home folder and copied to his PC using Desktop Manager (I forget which version) on Windows 7. The jpegs all had large horizontal stripes going across and most of the .doc flies would not open.
I connected the device to my laptop and PC using DM 6 and DM 5 and was not able to access the onboard file storage. I also tried with a 1GB microSD card in and that didn't work either.
I got the device in my office and connected with DM but the media sync component throws and error when connecting to the phone, even though DM is able to connect and backup the device to an .ipd file.
That covers all the symptoms and observations I can think of. Any help/insight is greatly appreciated!
