I'm confused, when i'm out the country to save cash i put my data roaming onto 'No', then log into hotel WiFi to access my Blackberry Email but it apperars it wont work.

Do i have to turn data roaming to 'On'? Seems pointless and dangerous seeing as if hotel WiFi drops, as is sdo often the case, it'll cost me a fortune without me knowing... as is so often the case..

Any ideas?

Try these settings.

Data ON
While Roaming OFF
WiFi ON

Make sure that you have an active BlackBerry Data Plan in your home country while you are doing this out of the country.

Those were my settings and i couldnt connect to the Blackberry service. Obviously i do have the service in my home country otherwise i wouldnt be trying to connect to it

Maybe the hotel wifi has a problem.


Well it's never obvious from our perspective.

Data should go via WiFi when you have a WiFi connection as that is the preferred path. Now whether it actually does, all the time, is another question that I cannot answer.

Some Hotel's require you login to the hotel wifi via the splash page before it will allow any data through. Have you completed the login?
