As the title says my 9700 keeps shutting down, I maye be using an app or not....makes no difference, trouble is the phone may be on the side and I dont know that it has shut off.
When it shuts down I cannot just press the on button...nothing happens..to get the phone back on I have to take the battery out and put back and then the red light will turn on.

I am running V5.0.0.593
Today I have started in safe mode to see if it shuts down.

How long does it usually stay on after a battery pull before it shuts off again? Does it stay on in safe mode?

My first thought is battery. If the battery is a couple years old, more so. If you routinely run the battery all the way down before you recharge, even more so.

If you can borrow a battery to test that would be a quick step to rule out the battery.
