| Dubdub is on the right track.
You are experiencing a service book issue - specifically the "BlackBerry Internet Browsing Service" service book. Either you are missing it altogether or it is loaded on the device but not taking for some reason.
If you are missing the service book, try re-sending service books. If it still won't show, try copying service books from another T-Mobile device. (won't go into detail here as it is undoubtedly covered elsewhere in this site and other sites, but it involves backing up the service books of a working T-Mobile device, and restoring them to the 9800)
If the required service book is present but not taking, try a delete and undelete.
If all of the above fails, you may be out of luck. As T-Mobile won't have this device for another 6 months, and the service book for internet browsing *may* be different for OS6's webkit browser (although I personally don't see why it would), you may not be able to get this working at all. If other T-Mobile users with unlocked 9800s are reporting success, then disregard this statement.
Last resort, load Opera Mini (as it does not require the BlackBerry Internet Browsing Service service book) and see if it is compatible with OS6.
PS - Your BlackBerry data plan with T-Mobile is not "on the device". It is associated with your account, thus tied to your SIM card.
Good luck.
