Anyway to do this? It keeps coming up with alerts and messages and I never have any... its useless anyway since I don't even use facebook or myspace or anything else like that. Thanks!

The alerts seem to show up if either you have a facebook/myspace social feed OR an RSS update and the device ships with 3 RSS feeds pre-installed so that might be causing the issue for you. You could remove those RSS feeds *or* launch Social Feeds, menu button, choose 'Options' and then in 'Display', there's an option to disable notify on feed updates. That should do it for you.
