Is it possible to delete multiple emails using the virtual keyboard only?

yes. In the message list, simultaneouse touch the messages you want to delete, then release them. they will stay selected. then you can touch the delete metaphor. Or touch one of the date headers. When the menu pops up, select delete prior.

How do you SIMULTANEOUSLY grab a whole bunch of messages? I lay my finger down and I can only get three or so?

use 2 fingers, or do the same thing as you will expand/zoom in on a brower screen.

It's not the best way to select multi msg, but it works...
