| Where was your 9800 made, and what build issues do you have? Please Login to Remove! I am starting to have some of the same issues others are complaining about, and before I go exchange my device, I'd like to know where everyones device was made and what build issues they have (or NONE if you don't have any.) I did have an interesting conversations with an AT&T rep, where she said they stock the shelves in the back with the newest devices in the back so the older ones go out first (reminded me of when I was 16 and stocked dairy at Kroger.) She said all the older devices in the back were from Mexico5, with their newer shipments coming from Mexico4. So anyhow, I'll go first! Manufactured: Mexico 5
Build Issues: Button peel, SMALL screen wiggle.

| Mexico 5
Moderate up/down wiggle at bottom when closed
Moderate side/side wiggle when open
Will definitely be looking to exchange w/in the 30 day window...still not 100% I'll keep it, to be honest. | | Offline

| Mexico 4. Had mine for 1 month. No wiggle but have had phone in otterbox case since day one. Don't know if that has anything to do with it. LOVE, LOVE my phone. Only complaint is that camera "convenience key" only works outside in daylight. Indoors the flash goes off but no pic. Have tried changing lighting, profile, etc. Nothing works. Camera does work from camera mode quite well. | | Offline

| I've had 2 of them:
First One: Mexico 5 - screen wiggle, loose battery door developed after a week or so of use, and the arrow and selector would move to the right and down by itself.
Second One: Mexico 4 - definitely feels more solid than the first one. The only issue is with the touch screen, when you hit something on the right side of the screen, it selects the item on the left of the screen (if i dial a 3 on the screen it dials 13 or 31 or just 1, if I dial 6 on the screen, it dials 46 or 64, or just 4).
Probably will go back and exchange for a 3rd unit... | | Offline

| The best thing I did to mine was update out of the stock OS... The audio quality and general performance spiked after I did that. | | Offline

| Just picked up my 9800 here in Toronto. While past blackberrys have been made in Canada, this one is Mexico 5, which I understand from earlier posts is better than Mexico 4. Hope this does not have the issues reported for Mexico 4. | | Offline

I swapped mine in yesterday, they had another Mexico 5 and one from Mexico 4, which I took. The Mexico 4 unit was much tighter, the 5 unit had the same issues my original one had. | | Offline

| This is my Torch #5 already, this one is Mexico4 and did not see where the other ones came from.
The first one i got stopped making noises completely, no phone rings, no email notifi, no bbm, nothing. Profile was set to Loud so that was not it and i checked every profile and nothing.
The other ones the little plastic where the on/off, make a call, menu, and go back buttons are kept peeling off.
This one i have now has, twice, given me a crazy screen, for instance, if i'm in bbm and exit, it would show the main screen with parts of the previous screen. when it did that i just did a memory cleaning and it went back to normal so my guess is it was a memory overload. | | Offline
