Default Torch Camera - How can I macro?!

Please Login to Remove!

I remember when the 9700 came out I took beaaaaautiful macro (close up, the subject is clear but background is blurry) pictures.

Now that the torch has 5mp I figured it'd take even better ones, but somehow I can't get it to work? Even with the "close up" option selected, the camera barely autofocuses and hardly blurrs the background.

Am I missing something?

I am finding the same on .246 and in doing a side by side comparison with someone running the stock .141, the stock pictures are much clearer, and all the settings are identical.
