Exclamation Touchscreen randomly loses calibration

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody else has experienced a situation where the touchscreen randomly loses calibration on their Torch 9800. I am running the latest OS 9800, 6.0.0.695/6.0.0.246 (Multilanguage).

When it loses calibration I am unable to press any icons or elements on the left of the screen (in portrait mode) or top and middle of the screen (in landscape mode).

It however does not appear to be a defective screen for the following reasons:
  • It does not show up on every screen (for example, I may not be able to hit an icon on the left or top in portrait or landscape respectively when this happens on the home screen, but I can still hit a keyboard key on the left just fine or dial from the phone screen; alternatively sometimes the phone screen will glitch out and the rest works fine)
  • Doing a reboot by pulling the battery definitely fixes things.
Any ideas or tips how to prevent this from happening? I already did a search on Google and other users did report this problem as well, but no solid fix has been reported to date.

I really, really, really hope this is just a software glitch. I can live with that as long as the hardware is not defective as it will eventually get fixed.
