I just bought a new Torch and am going to move to Germany from the US. I bought it in the US. I assume from my research that I can use it in Germany, because it says it can use GSM 900 and 1800, and also UMTS (if that is correct). I understand that all I will need to do is get a new SIM card when in Germany from a provider. Is that correct ?

Which provider do you want to use it with in Germany? - shouldnt be an issue really, all europen 3G networks run on 2100.

Don't forget to get unlock code from AT&T.

doesn't AT&T's Blackberry work on a specific frequency? i own a Palm Pre Plus previously locked on ATT and when i moved to europe and unlocked it, it didn't have 3G signal,cause it is working only (!!!!) at 1900 MHz... and now i'm using it with EDGE
i want to buy a blackberry but i'm afraid after this.

I am usign an unlocked AT&T Torch in France. No problem whatsoever. The device should work on any of the European networks.

Remeber you can unlock it for less than 10 US$, should AT&T refuse to unlock your device, or charge you a high amount.
