Default Delete System Bookmarks

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone,

I got my first BlackBerry (a Torch 9800) a couple of weeks ago and since then have been using your forum as a handy resource to get to grips with all my new handset offers.

I have just joined this morning as I have 3 questions that I have not found answers too. I have posted each as a separate thread which I hope is the right way to do things.

Question 1: My Carrier is 3, and they have loaded my Torch with bookmarks I don't want but there doesn't seem to be an option to remove them. Does anyone know where these files are stored and whether I can remove them with an Explorer type app that shows hidden files?

Any help would be warmly received.

Welcome to BB Forums.
There is no way to delete the system/carrier bookmarks.

Things like that really bug me. Why do carriers think that I would want / need seventeen bookmarks of their choosing, and be so confident that I couldn't live without them that they make them persistent?!?

OK rant over! What about creating my own folder? If I could create a folder I could put all my favourites in it, but all I can seem to do is add a subfolder to the existing BlackBerry folder.

Maybe you could hide those icons? Or create a folder, move them all into that folder, and then hide the folder?

Sounds great but even with FileScout I cannot find the file or icons to move / hide them - do you have any experience doing this because I could do with some pointers.

Cheers CK

Confusion here - Kris, you are talking about web bookmarks found in the browser, right?

fortnotes is talking about home screen icons that carriers push down

Right yes, I am talking about web bookmarks sorry. I have sussed oragising my home screen icons into folders, although not accessing them via keyboard shortcuts or changing the icons on the folders I have created - see my other posts!!

Sorry for the confusion, CK

Right, I was talking about the stuff on the home screen. Sorry I did not read more closely. I've not tried removing browser bookmarks.
