Had an interesting problem pop up today with my 9800. I opened the slider and the device went blank. Closed the slider, it cam back on. Opened again, blank again. Wiggled it a bit, came on. Wiggled some more, blank again.

A battery pull seems to have resolved it for now.

Anyone else noticed this?

Not that one, but I had the screen go to just my wallpaper and no amount of poking or sliding would alter that. I used the on/off button to power cycle the phone and it's never happened again. May your luck be similar.
