Default Torch 9800 SMS v Picture Message

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

My query relates to sending SMS on the BB Torch 9800.

I checked my recent bill and note that I am being charged for "Long Text" even though I have unlimited text (sms) within my price plan.

After speaking to Vodafone Customer Services, I was advised that I have exceeded the allowance for a single SMS that is set for my Torch 9800, therefore the SMS has been converted to a Picture Messaging (long text).

I am trying to find when a 'standard text' becomes a 'long text' (picture message) and was hoping you could assist in clarifying this.

Before I start a SMS the following appears on the character count: "160 / 1 of 7"

Does a long text become when I have used all 160 characters, or does it become after I have used 160 characters 7 times.

I hope this makes sense.

Cheers.
