Roger Torch 9860 Wireless Hotspot Capability? Hi all, Thanks in advance for the help. I had an account a few years ago but had to sign up for a new one since I couldn't seem to find where to send a password reminder and I'll be damned if I remember that. Aaaanyways, basically my Dad has a Torch 9860 on Rogers and we are thinking of getting him one of these new fangled (WiFi only) Kobo tablets for his birthday but I can't find from any documentation if a Rogers 9860 is capable of making a mobile hotspot, which is pretty critical considering he would be using it almost exclusively while travelling around Canada. Thanks! |

I know the 9860 is UMA capable, based on the technical specification sheet for the 9860, I believe it is NOT capable of acting as a Wireless HotSpot. --Phil |
Re: Roger Torch 9860 Wireless Hotspot Capability? No BlackBerrys can currently act as a WiFi hotspot. |
Re: Roger Torch 9860 Wireless Hotspot Capability? Thanks guys. Yes I was looking to make a hotspot (LTEE). I did it with my own Android phone this summer at the cottage and was critical in doing just enough work that people didn't really know I was gone :). Turns out FutureShop has a promotion going that when you buy a PLaybook you get a $200 gift card so I may just do that. Thanks again |
Re: Roger Torch 9860 Wireless Hotspot Capability? and I might add its pretty dumb that BBs don't have this feature. Virtually every other (recent) smartphone has it and it really is a truly useful feature |
