Re: How to enable browser without BIS/BES ? A BB is different from other cell phones in that it requires a Blackberry data plan to function properly. You need things called "service books" sent by your cell carrier to enable various functions such as WiFi, email, Facebook, etc. You only get them with a BB dataplan from your carrier. You might try installing Opera Mini using BB desktop Manager (use Google to find the correct Opera Mini version for your device and OS). Otherwise, you have a nice cell phone and/or paperweight. |
Re: How to enable browser without BIS/BES ? But if "cell carrier" is sending me this file, theoretically I can set my file and all will work ? Is there a way to do that ? (Is there some kind of crack?) My previous phone was iPhone 4, I just use Jailbreak and all works. |
Re: How to enable browser without BIS/BES ? A BB isn't as insecure as an iPhone. No jailbreak for a BB. Have to have a BB data plan to get the service books. No way around it. Maybe you should go back to your iPhone? |
Re: How to enable browser without BIS/BES ? Just as dubdub has said, your only option is to use a browser that uses wifi ... the native blackberry browser requires BIS/BES to function |
Re: How to enable browser without BIS/BES ? What about this crack ? bb.anworm.com/?page_id=90 |

Re: How to enable browser without BIS/BES ? We don't do "cracks". Pay for the data plan or choose a different device. Nokia phones like the E71 work well with simple carrier data plans. You lose a lot of BlackBerry functionality, but then again if web browsing is your highest priority then a BlackBerry is probably not the ideal choice anyway. |
