| BB Bold 9900 Issue With BB ID Please Login to Remove! Hi all
Sincere apologies if this has been posted earlier or elsewhere on the site.
Basic problem is that I cannot sign into my BB ID to verify it/access AppWorld. The error message I get is as follows:
"Unable to login to your BlackBerry ID account"
And the little shield with red asterisk stays in the top bar of the handset as if it indicates you have an email/update of an app etc and is getting very bothersome.
Blackberry has this half baked solution I have tried which does nothing at all and there is no date for when this will be rectified, if ever?! KB28212-"Unable to login to your BlackBerry ID account" or "Unable to update your BlackBerry ID account information" error occurs on a BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry 7
But aside from a full wipe/restore (which I have not yet done), does anyone know how this can be remedied?
Warm regards in advance. | | Offline

| Re: BB Bold 9900 Issue With BB ID Are you able to login using a PC ?
If yes, update your account using the PC, then, again try to login using the handheld.
Also: I once had the same problem, but it turned out it was my fault.I did not register my appworld account with the same email adresss I use on the device. I did reset the appworld preferences, and after that the application used my real email address for the login, which of course was not possible, and I simply did not read the email address at the login prompt. | | Offline

| Re: BB Bold 9900 Issue With BB ID Dont know it that helps:
1. make a reset of the appworld cache: KB24714-How to clear the BlackBerry App World cache
2. again try to login into appworld, and, initiate the lost password recovery procedure (even, if you know your password).
Not, that I am sure if that will work, but, if you have not tried it, do it, because this is still better then a device reset. | | Offline

| Re: BB Bold 9900 Issue With BB ID Sad.
Last random guess:
creat a new dummy blackberry ID using the blackberry. Does that work ?
If yes, maybe then your original id might also be ok ? Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile | | Offline

| Re: BB Bold 9900 Issue With BB ID Strange.
Because not all Blackberry 9900 are affected by this bug (mine worked immediately), and then the rather mysterious workaround by removing and inserting the SIM.
Looks more like a problem with the carrier.
Another guess:
delete all your service books, then reregister the BB and send all service books using the carriers Web-Portal. Wait until the servicebook reappear.
If you have a WiFi at your home, maybe try to boot the BB without the SIM, and use WiFi only.
Or, delete all service books, then, try a SIM from a different provider which also is Blackberry-Service enabled. | | Offline

Gonna try updating with new software found in this thread here and see if that helps, although cant d-load as the RIM site is showing its offline for maintenance.
And if that doesnt work, then a wipe will be the final stage, short of taking it back to the store and getting a replacement. | | Offline

| Re: BB Bold 9900 Issue With BB ID Ended up doing a fresh software install using the link in the above post of mine.
Seems to have rid the error message for now. Just lost my apps but thats not a biggie.
Everything else seems fine. Now!
