Battery life on 7.0.0.585 Although it doesn't look to be posted here, the official 7.0.0.585 was released. I installed it on Friday... here's a summary of my battery life through some fairly low use this weekend. I would say the emphasis here is how well it saves power while on but not really being used. This was done with Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC all on. Wi-Fi was connected, bluetooth and NFC were on but never used. Friday: 11:42pm - full battery Saturday: 11:00am - 80% (received 2 bbm's and 1 text) 1:20pm - 75% (receive 1 bbm) 5:09pm - 75% (sent/received 6 bbm's) Sunday: 12:26am - 60% (quick phone call and a few texts) 1:03am - 60% (receive email and open weather app) 3:23am - 55% (no activity since 1am) 12:32pm - 40% (received facebook notification, checked and refreshed) 11:30pm - 15% (couple of bbm's and texts) Monday: 8:10am - 3% (time to charge!) |
Re: Battery life on 7.0.0.585 Just a note, you should never let a lithium battery get below 20% on a regular basis. Doing so can damage the battery and seriously reduce the cycle time and also require replacement much sooner than normal. Maybe you were just testing, but a lithium battery works much better and lasts longer if you keep it topped up when you can. |
Re: Battery life on 7.0.0.585 Yeah this was more for a full test of how long it can go on this OS. If I do some further testing, I'll see the time it takes to go form 100 down to 30 or 20% Kind of silly there's this 'rule' for optimal battery life, but it does hold true :) |
