Default EMail Delivery Confirmation Not Working?

I'm using a BOLD 9900 (BIS) and am on 7.1.0.523

Whenever I send an e-mail from an e-mail ID configured on my Blackberry (it's a gmail ID).... i get a tick mark.. which means it has been sent and it gets received too by the recepient...

but there is no "D" for Delivered or "R" for Read which appears against it ever. Inthe Message - Options - Confirm Delivery and Confirm Read are enabled.

What more can I do? I have used .569 also... and previous versions.. I don't think it's an OS issue..

What am I doing wrong? or is it that the RECEPIENTS's e-mail service provider (also mostly gmail email IDs) is not allowing a confirmation send?

The recipient is usually prompted to send the delivery confirmation. They might just be clicking on "no".

no. can't be... tried with friends. and not all emails are getting delivered on a blackberry device...

some to the computer... still nope

If your friend has an email account configured as a POP3 account and the computer gets the email first, once it's downloaded it might not go to their BlackBerry at all.

well wherever the e-mail goes... my question is not to get a confirmation only when it hits BB

whether it hits a computer, email program or BB.. the confirmation should come coz it has actually got delivered right

if i were to confirm emails sent only to BB... i can use a "<confirm>" .. in the subject line...

but that's not my thing.. my question is when there is a feature under Messages - Options - for Confirm Delivery and Read... why doesn't it appear as D and R under e-mails sent? irrespective of someone has read them on a computer first or their device

And only because i used to get it in the beginning.. months ago... then I had a Torch... dunno what has changed.. has GMAIL / Google stopped responding....

I used to actually see these delivery confirmation emails come to my inbox... now I don't know what's wrong.. is my service provider playing or what

It doesn't work that way. You won't get a "D" or an "R" with e-mail delivery /confirmation. You will get a return e-mail message indicating it was delivered and/ or read, that's all. "D" and "R is for PIN and BBM only. That's the way my Gmail accounts work. I could be wrong, but I've never seen the "D" and "R" used in e-mail delivery.

It's not. Confirmation/Read receipts are sent as another e-mail. Regardless if it was received on the BB or on a PC with Gmail.

We have three managers that always ask for delivery confirmation and read receipts. They never get them either

ok sorry. apologize and stand corrected.

like i mentioned in my last post.... true ... you are right


i used to see another email in my gmail inbox which was a confirmation delivery...

so that has stopped too.... ok so how should i enable getting that?

do you still get in with gmail account?

can you please help me set up that. i used to get it.. i remember like i mentioned it in the earlier post...

sorry no D and R.... but that confirmation email can save me a lot of work and hassle...

please advise. thanks
