Default is there a way to connect a 9900 to a 3g router?

hi
much have been said about tethering here but i was wondering if anyone has connected and used their bold with a 3g router via usb to share their phone's internet

The phone does not have the USB host controllers that would be required to run devices from the USB port.

do you mean the router doesn't have the cntrollers for the phone?
