Default Autotext never happens

I have a blackberry pearl 8100. I dont think the autotext works. As I understand it, it should fill in words. All it does is want me to confirm which letter on the keyboard I want.

When using SureType you simply type the entire word, paying no attention to what is being displayed on the screen until the end of the word. Try it.

Type Blackberry by pressing the following keys (only once

It will automatically know "Blackberry" when you finish the word. SureType doesn't predict the word ahead of time. You have to type the whole word. It's very quick once you get the hang of it.

It does have some shortcomings:

Type "are"

as er er

It may not know whether you want "are" or "see" since both words use the same button combination. However, overall, it does a great job 95% of the time.
