Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

I notice since this morning. My device locks up and will pause for several seconds at random and giving me the sand dial icon.

I notice it more when I am getting e-mail while on the e-mail or when I am using the web browser.

Any ideas?

Memory issue? That seems to be the cause of most slowdowns in BB performance. How much free memory do you have left?

That looks awfully low. I'm showing 18,138,713 free memory on my curve. You're down to under 3 MB left and that's definitely in the danger zone. BB's act wonky when free memory drops below certain levels. It varies with each model, but ~3 MB is low for any model. Do you have a memory card? Storing pics and documents on a card could be a huge win for freeing up memory.

Interesting.
I also notice it locks up sometimes when I click options.
I just started saving some files on beamberry but that is a server if and NOT my device I think.

You need to strive to get up around 15-20mb free.

Do all this:
Why is my BlackBerry losing its call logs or message logs? - BlackBerryFAQ
How do I free up memory on my device? - BlackBerryFAQ

Good luck.

Good lord... you are REALLY low on free memory.
Hopefully you'll find some more unnecessary crap to get rid of.
You really need about 5x more free memory than you currently have.

I think it may be a leak. I deleted items and I am now showing 1,852,866.

I have about 15 themes
BB TASK pRO
BBWeather
Beamberry
Bloglines
beyond 411
Brickbreaker
ESPN Mobile Web
GMail
Google Services
fast Mail
Opera Mini 4 beta
Viigo
Quick Compose
Web shortcuts
Xtemplate
Password Keeper
Windows Live Search.

In Media, I have all of my memory as I use media card.
No sample video

That's a lot of stuff. Any of those things you don't use, especially in the theme department? Also try a hard reset (take the battery out for 10 secs), as that will recover some of the memory.

have you rebooted your BB during all that?

I have more apps that that loaded on my 8800 and still over 20mb free.

Pull the battery! Then post the file free!

I previously deleted all of the languages. I also did restart the device.
I also made sure I did everything shown in FAQ links that were posted on this thread.

Themes. Themes are HEAVY memory users. If you have added all the vendor themes some of those are almost a meg all by themselves. Get rid of the themes you don't use. Most people have about 1 or 2 themes they use (I really only have one I use.) Get rid of the rest. You can always load one back later if you really want it.

Edit: Also, when you get low on memory and you see the spinning hour glass for 5-10 seconds at a time, that is the BB deleting your emails, call logs, and sms messages trying to free up space.

Thank you to all. I have been pulling themes periodically and am up to 12 mb.
I am interested if anyone knows how to get rid of the dimension themes.

They can be removed by removing them from the java folder on your PC (if you have the OS installed to your PC) and then plugging into DM and running Application Loader. However, I wouldn't remove those. I believe they're needed for other themes to run. You can remove any of the vendor coded themes,(i.e. any themes with the vendor code in the file name) however.

To add to the knowledge base, I am down to about 10 themes and my device is showing 13 mb

Why do you need 10 themes on your device at the same time?
I think you should delete 7 or more of them.
