Default Google calendar getting auto sync'ed??

Please Login to Remove!

I just got my 8310 this week. I setup gmail on BIS and that is working fine.

I use Google calendar for all my scheduling, and was trying to figure out how to get that working with the blackberry, looking at gcalsync, google mobile website, etc.

But then I went to the Blackberry calendar, and a handful of entries for 1 week from my google calendar were there! Where did they come from??

I used pocketmac to sync contacts, but calendar sych was disabled.

not all my GCal entries made it to the blackberry though. only a few of them.

when looking at details of the appts, it says "received meeting request using <myaddress>@gmail.com. but there were no meeting requests for the ones that ended up in the calendar. they were a few that i added manually to gcal.

what exactly is going on here?

anyone recommend a good tool for sync'ing google calendar with blackberry calendar?

i figured out what is going on here. when google calendar sends email reminder for each event, it is in a meeting format. the email is received on the bberry, which it interprets and auto adds to my calendar.

so if i figure out a good solution to sync my entire calendar, i actually don't want this to happen every time i get an email reminder of an event. then i'll have duplicates in my calendar.

GooSync is one possibility - it is a free service. However, for blackberries it requires JeSync from Nexthaus which is about $40. GooSync set-up instructions detail all of this. Works well, IMO.
