Exclamation WOW!!! is this gonna be the best BB PLAN?

Please Login to Remove!

PhoneNews.com can confirm that starting next month, Sprint will be offering a consumer-oriented Power Vision BlackBerry data plan in line with the forthcoming launch of the Pearl.

For $29.99 per month, the plan will include BlackBerry internet service with unlimited push email and internet access, but does remove access to enterprise services and phone as modem, and will now include unlimited SMS messaging, access to Sprint TV, Sprint Music Store, and unlimited use of Sprint Navigation, with a voice plan now required.

The data plan is expected to become available on November 1st.

Nice find. I don't remember Sprint ever offering a BIS plan (but then again, I've only ever dealt with BES users).

$10 less than the current Sprint BES unlimited, WITH extra stuff. Very nice.

Sign me up! I'm paying $39.99 for unlimited BB access and $5 for only 300 SMS messages. I don't need BES or PAM, so this new plan is the plan for me.

I am going to wait to read the full details of the plan, but this is a plan that might actually get to me to dump my hosted BES and just "deal" with the reduced number of features that come with using BIS only.

I think its great! After reading that Sprints CEO was getting the boot I was expecting them to roll out something cool but not for a BB plan. I guess after loosing customers to T-mo for price and At&t for iphone they really had no choice. No matter why it happend I'll take it. This over a two year contract will save you about $500 plus now you get sprint tv and nav. Nice job guys!

I believe they are adding this plan to attract people to get their Pearl that is coming out soon (haven't heard a firm date on that yet.....).

Since the Pearl, IMO, is more consumer and prosumer, they want a consumer-like plan to go along with it.

Smart move on their part.

Is the 8130 hardware capable of running Sprint TV? I know the plan says it can but they say the reason we can't watch youtube on our Pearls are because of EDGE/hardware limitations.

this is an awesome PLAN. I'm not changing carriers though. I didn't have a problem with Sprint when I used them!

T-Mobile's BIS Blackberry Add-On ($20/month on top of a minutes plan) has always been the cheapest data plan around, but then it doesn't include unlimited SMS. This new Sprint plan is a fierce competitor.

Sprint doesn't use EDGE. Sprint's EVDO is much faster and you have to remember that the 8130 is a newer and improved Pearl over what Tmobile and ATT have right now.

You do.

I was paying $75/mo for BB (incl. tethering), Garmin Mobile, unlimited SMS, hosted Exchange and BES.

The new plan is $30 for BIS only (fine by me), unlimited SMS, and unlimited TeleNav (Sprint Navigation).

And now I can add tethering for $15/mo the 4 times a year I actually needed it (I almost never tether, so right now I am paying for something I do not use).

So to me...$30 is better than $75!

I signed up for it today, but it won't take effect until Tuesday when my new billing cycle begins.
