|  Setting up BIS

I need to setup a Blackberry for someone with their email hosted by a company, and the easiest way to do this is through BIS. I have never done this, but I presume that when we buy the Blackberry we must specify BIS and then I send a message to Blackberry with the PIN and IMEI.
Do I then get a BIS login? And can I setup the account to forward email on from a hosted service?
