I am having a really annoying problem with my email on my Blackberry Curve. I have had it for a month now and it has worked perfectly all this time. I have emails from my Yahoo mail address delivered to the device.

This afternoon it started to deliver hundreds of emails to the handheld from my Yahoo account, these were all old read emails from weeks ago. I managed to turn data off after about a hundred messages had got through (I was at work with a client so couldn't just get it out straight away!). I have turned it on since and it carries on delivering all these messages.

I have rebooted the device with no luck. I have also removed the Yahoo email address by logging in to BIS but then when I turned it on its started delivering old messages again.

I have not done anything with the settings so cant understand whats going on.

I have seen this happen from time to time. Most times, in these threads it will be with Gmail. There hasn't been a fix for it yet.

Do you know how the data transfer charging usually works? I am worried that if it continues delivering all these emails I am going to get an astronomical bill next month!!! Or does it not actually download the data until you open the email? I only get 6mb data allowance at the moment which is pretty low.

I am so confused!

Have you gone to your blackberry email service provider and deleted the messages from that side?

You may need to delete and then re-set up your yahoo acct again on the device.

You might want to go ahead and upgrade to the unlimited data package.
