Default Synchronization Problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Everyone,
My company is having some trouble getting the contacts synchronization working properly with Microsoft Outlook. We want the Outlook contacts list to always have precedence over the contacts on the devices so that if there is a matching name or number with a non-matching one (for example, Blackberry says Jon Smith 555-5555 & Outlook says Jon Smith 444-5555) then the entry in Outlook will overwrite the Blackberry entry during sync. However, we only want this for certain folders. Is there a way we can do this?

Thank you, any help is appreciated
- Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I'm assuming you're talking about a wired sync to some Public Folders. Don't know if this helps, but the way we handle this is by allowing only certain people write access to the PF contact folders. Those who can write to the these folders and have Blackberrys are told that their changes will be reflected in Exchange. Those who don't have write access are told their changes will not be reflected in Exchange. So far (knock on wood), no issues.
