Default Is there a way to test your BES without A Blackberry?

Please Login to Remove!

We installed BES 4.1 on our exchange server. Everything seems to be operating. I've added a user, and I wish to do a test of connectivity between our BES Server and srp.us.blackberry.net, without using an actual blackberry? Basically, I just want to make sure that communication is taking place when trying to activate users, or where that communication might be breaking down. we've forwarded port 3101 through our router to the BES, but is there anyway to tell if activations are failing because srp.us.blackberry.net is not making it back to here?

Default Blackberry Simulator

Why not use Blackberry Simulator via RIM's site? Every developer at my company does not have a Blackberry device and are in the process of tweaking Domino apps for Blackberry users. The problem is, without a device, they cannot test email redirection for their mail enabled apps. To satisfy them, I asked two to install and configure the simulator and they can send/receive email as well as test MDS. Hope this helps.

You can download the simulators here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...897474079C1477

Please pay attention to their "How To". I had too many people take shortcuts and go "huh?"

Livelink - Redirection

YOU DON'T NEED TO PORT FORWARD PORT 3101! Sorry, I just wanted to be clear on that.

Your BES just needs to be able to make a TCP port 3101 outbound connection to srp.us.blackberry.net (or srp.na.blackberry.net) and then that connection will be bi-directional allowing data to come in. Much like an HTTP session where a web server pushes data back through the pipe.

You can use the tool bbsrptest (in the C:\program files\research in motion\blackberry enterprise server\utility directory) to see if your BES can properly communicate with the SRP network.
