1. Make sure you are provisioned for International Roaming;
2. Make sure they've taken off the units restrictions from logging onto foreign towers;

Even though you may provisioned for IC your unit may still have restrictions on it that only give you an SOS when you try to do a network scan in another country. I had big issues with TMO about this as my unit only gave me an SOS whenever i roamed even though i was provisioned for IC. If you have that problem when you go overseas call TMO at 1-505-998-3793. I can't begin to tell you the crap i went through. A 6 month exercise while in Jamaica.

That's strange, all I told TMobile was that I wanted my mobile international enabled and never had a problem. Maybe they've changed procedures since you had your issues.

Cingular gives you unlimited international data roaming for an extra $20 a month above your unlimted data plan fee.

tmo plan for international roaming data is $15 a mb, if you have an unlocked phone it's way better just to switch out your sim that way your calls in are free the only problem is the prepaid data plan. anyone know of any in europe?
thanks

I was just in Portugal for 2 weeks, and it worked beautifully. It was FAST too!
Unfortunately I was there for my mother in law's funeral.
