Lightbulb YAHOO! GO on Rogers

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

I've got an 8700 locked to Rogers.

I opted to go for the 10mb/$10 data plan vs a bb plan cuz its much cheaper and I don't need the bb email.

The issue I'm having is that I want to receive my yahoo mail on my device. I was able to do this when I was on a bb data plan cuz i think they have a special BIS yahoo app. Now that I'm on normal data that service doesn't work. I tired installing YAHOO! GO, but surprise surprise, Rogers don't allow it.

Anyone know how to get my yahoo.com email on my berry without surfing the mobile browser and going to yahoo.com etc.?
Maybe if I unlock my phone them Rogers can't block the install?

Thanks!

If the data plan is not a BlackBerry data plan I don't believe you will get push e-mail on the device.

If you do not have the BB Data plan, can you use the BB Desktop Redirector to receive push email? As long as you keep your computer on all the time?

So does this mean I can subscribe to a basic data (non blackberry) plan and receive the push email?

hey guys,

new to the blackberry world..and the forums....FRIGGIN AWESOME RESOURCES HERE THOUGH BTW!

anyways...i too am using the $10/10MB generic email plan on my curve...with the combination of free programs...i am now able to recieve push email (from one account only....to which ALL of my other email accounts have been forwarded)...as well as surf the web...and get my yahoo and hotmail emails pushed to my BB too!!!!!! FREE!!!!

sign up with consilient.com..the only con is that their signature gets written to the bottom of all of your replies...but whatever..its free....and sign up with Getmail (Hotmail Forwarding - GetMail For Hotmail) which can forward your FREE hotmail and yahoo accounts to any other email account

i still have to figure out a way to get my msn msging for free...but its only my first day

hope this helps everyone though!
