It's posted in the thread below but this can be the start of new. It will be out in the coming months....Rock on! I'm psyched by this new ability.

Remove IT Policy

FYI: As of 11/03/2007 the only devices that this will work on are the 8120 and 8130. All others don't have OS 4.3 available yet and this won't yet work.

None...this was put out by RIM. It won't work for circumventing your company's policies but will work for gaining back abilities with BB's no longer attached to the BES.

Quite alright. It deserves it's own thread. It really works. Frees up the application permissions...everything. It's just like a new BB out of the box. It's what we've been waiting for.

Understood
I asked because I notice several subscribers access this site in an effort to learn how to circumvent their employer.

I recently posted a thread in the 8300 Discussion Forum asking whether or not this was possible (never really got any responses). My question is this, and please bear with me as I am a "newbie," but how can I do this with my brand new 8300 which is running BB OS 4.2? Is it possible for me to upgrade to OS 4.3? If so, how do I accomplish this? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am sick and tired of entering a 6-character password after my personal non-BES 8310 times-out after 30 minutes per corporate protocol. Thanks.

Do you have an 8300 or an 8310? If it is an 8300, v4.3 is not available yet. The only way to remove an IT Policy is to try this:

It won't work on an 8300 or 8310. The only devices with 4.3 on them are the 8120 and 8130. Soon, folks....soon.

NJBlackBerry -- thank you so much! It worked like a charm. My two weeks of frustration and anger are in the past and I now have my 8310 all to myself, without security protocols and nagging password requests. Thanks again -- you rock!
