Do you have the Desktop Manager installed on the computer?

In the Desktop Manager window, there is an Options menu across the top of the screen. Click on Options, then Connection Settings.

I'd think DTM would have to be installed in order to get this message....

Yes, desktop manager is installed. When I open up the desktop manager I get the message to go set connection settings. I click on media manager and get a message "connect blackberry via USB" even though I am already conneceted.

Don't click on any of the icons, click on the word Options across the top of the Desktop Manage window. You should see File, View, Options, and Help.

You don't want to go to Media Manager. Like juwaack said you will want to go to Options > Connection Settings.
