Default One more messaging question

Please Login to Remove!

One more question about forwarding messages to Blackberry devices: Let's say I get an email that is delivered to my inbox and my Blackberry. Then I move that email from within Outlook to a personal folder. As of now and how I have things configured, I have to manually go and delete the email off of my Blackberry. Is there a way to automatically delete emails off of the handheld if they have been moved to a personal folder?

If you're on a BES, and your BES is v4.1 (SP4, I think), and the BES Admin has Hard Delete enabled, the message would delete from the device automatically.

Otherwise there is no other way....

If you're using BIS, it is possible.

See this conversation for more details, but at a high level - if you MOVE, it stays on the BB, but if you COPY it to another folder and delete the original, it's deleted from the BB...

Are there any hidden consequences to turning on Hard Delete? If not, why it is not on by default? With it off, you aren't getting a true reconciliation from mailbox to handheld. Am I right?

Reading the Help for the BES manager, it says that this is useful for messages that have been permanently deleted, moved to a personal folder, or archived.

So, if there aren't any other consequences, this is exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks Juwaack!! And thanks for the conversation link, Mr. SoWise! ;)
