Default my bberry is driving me crazy!

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, so maybe this is an easy thing to fix, but it's driving me nuts!

I get around 100 emails/day and my blackberry is always ringing off the hook. Is there a way to set it so that when my bberry is plugged into my laptop and I'm in Outlook, emails don't get forwarded to my handheld?

The way it is now, everytime I get an email, even if my bberry is connected to my computer and I'm in outlook, the email goes to both the bberry and my computer inbox. By the end of the day when I look at my bberry I have 100 new messages (of course I've ready them all in outlook already) so I spend time deleting everything and it's a pain in the butt!

Any advice?

Thanks!

If you're using a BES4, make sure your user properties on the Redirection tab have "Disable email redirection to the handheld while in cradle" checked. On your laptop, the Desktop Manager program must be running.

As for deleting, you can click on the date and select "Delete Prior" rather than removing items individually.

Thanks Jay,

In my redirector settings "disable email redirection while handheld is connected" is checked, but emails still go to both places.

And what of the Desktop Manager software? Does it say "connected" and "online" when running? (and is it configured to use BES and not the redirector?)

Hi Jay,

Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it.

How can I tell if it's on the "redirector settings?"

Thanks again!

Do you know what BES is? BES is the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, a corporate or hosted solution to provide wireless e-mail to your BlackBerry. With BES 4, all PIM functions (contacts, notes and tasks).

If you want a hosted BES, conect one of the BES providers like Mailstreet and eOutlook (there are quite a few out there).
