Has anyone found a way to transfer their Sidekick address book to their Blackberry address book?

Found a way? Been solved quite a while...

use the Desktop Manager application that comes with the BB, or better yet, download the most recent version from this link, version 2, service pack 2

Then, there will be an icon within for Switch Device Wizard. It will work with the SK, and "should" transfer everything over to the new BB.

THANK YOU! It's been a while since I kept up with the Forum...all my friends/collegues think I'm a genius when it comes to Blackberrys...and I owe it all to you guys!!

A) First, did you upgrade and move the sim card over? If so, just go into the BB address book and pull the contacts from the sim card. If you had a Tmo Sidekick and got a Tmo BB the Blackberry would have asked if you wanted to upload the sim card address the first time you booted the BB after inserting the sim card. If you passed this then going to the empty address book in the BB will ask it again.

B) Did the sidekick sync to Outlook? If so install Blackberry Desktop and sync the BB and it will pick up the contacts.

C) Take both phones to the provider you got the Blackberry from and have them pull the contacts from the Sidekick sim to the BB sim with a sim card reader.

True, those are good suggestions, if Switch Device does not work. Pulling from SIM card to SIM card is last on mist, as SIM cards get only a phone number and name, and nothing more.

Syncing to Outlook is numero uno. Thanks for mentioning it.

I've tried this transferring method. It doesnt work with my sidekick LX. I want to transfer all of my contacts to my new pearl 8100, but idk how. I dont have the sim card in my Sidekick, is it required??

Sidekicks, as I remember, don't sync to outlook, as the idea is that its wirelessly synced all the time to the server. I cant see a way on the sidekick site to export the contacts back though which is a shame. You can transfer numbers only to the sim and then as said before transfer them from the sim to the device.

I miss the wireless contact syncing I have to admit, but the bb is a much better device.

The SK doesn't natively sync to Outlook, but you can buy Intellisync for this purpose. I just put a few hours in and did it by hand; when I got my Curve I had no idea the Switch Devices wizard could have done this for me.

Note: You can have wireless sync of Contacts and Notes if you download Unyverse from Unyverse - The Mobile Wiki Platform. It's still in beta but it's quite usable.

Most sprint stores have a machine manufactured by CelleBrite that will transfer from a HUGE list of phones. Mostly stuff supported only in the U.S., but they do support a huge range.
