Default Selective mute on 8700c?

Please Login to Remove!

Long story short, random people keep calling me while I'm trying to sleep. People who I don't know and don't particularly give a shit about.

At the same time, I need to have my phone ring when, say, my roommate locks herself out of the apartment at 7AM and needs me to come unlock the door.

So what I'm looking for is... is there any program or setting to have my phone use the mute ringtone as a default and a different ringtone for anyone in my address book?

I'm getting sick of losing sleep just because total strangers think it's a great idea to call at 8AM, and it takes me like twenty minutes to fall back asleep (I work lunches and dinners, waitressing, so I'm not quite swing shift but I'm not up at the crack of dawn either).

Thanks for any input!

Once I have the spare cash, I'll probably get the first one. Thanks! :D

Any reason your prefer the more expensive first one? Other than actual support?

Actual support, and they give a lot more information. I dunno, it'll be a while before I have the spare cash for either, so I have time to decide. :3

Can you setup a profile that is quiet, but create an exception for your roomy or others that you know you would want to talk to?

No, I used to shut it off while I was asleep, or mute it, but then my roommate managed to lock herself out of the apartment without her car keys and couldn't get ahold of me and... now I pretty much have to leave it on so that she doesn't have a nervous breakdown every morning.

See my previous post (updated). I used to do this for my wife when she worked late, but I didn't care to talk to anyone other than her.

...I think I got that to work. Will have to test it when she gets home, but it looks like it's sound (bad pun unintended).

Thanks a bunch!
