Default Offline Map Application for BB?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I am looking for an offline map application that I can use with my BB Pearl with external BlueTooth GPS receiver, with no data plan or data traffic involved - with maps loaded into the SD card.

Google Maps is nice, but with constant data traffic it is way too expensive, at least in Canada. Same with BB Maps...

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Don't know of any that will work with the BB. Both GoogleMaps and BBMaps use data as does TeleNav.

Plus you can't store much of anything on the SD card, music, photos and maybe some email attachments.

What do you mean?
I can store any file on the SD card.
BB OS can read any file from any location, not just predefined ones (for pictures, music, etc.)

Sorry, I don't understand.
You said I can't save much except what you just mentioned again, and I said I can save anything (which I routinely do).
So what did you mean?

Well, storing the files on the card and using them for much of anything worthwhile are two different issues. And I will bet that you moved the files over there while hard wired to a PC -- right?

LOL his message confuses me too. In response to you saying you can store ANYTHING on an card, he says you can store music, pictures, video, and MAYBE attachments. His wording would lead you to believe that you can ONLY store music, pictures, video, AND a possibility of storing attachments and nothing else. But he bolds it as if there is some importance with the word MAYBE? Like it had anything to do with your ANYTHING comment? I dont know.

I think though, that software can be written to store just about anything on the MicroSD, including map data. But I do not know of one that does this yet.
