Default Blackberry, Vista and Outlook 2007

Please Login to Remove!

I have a new Blackberry (8800) supplied by my office, which sync's with Lotus Notes (in my office). It does this wirelessly and used push-mail (and calendar).

I have Outlook 2007 at home and I want to sync the contacts and calendar from that program to my Blackberry.

I tried downloading and installing the BB desktop software. It's ahuge download (over 300Mb) and every time I try, the install file doesn't work giving me all sorts of errors relating to "Win32" or something. I'm running 32-bit Vista at home.

So, a couple of questions:

1. can you do what I want i.e. wirelessly sync with Notes via my office and cable-sync with Outlook contacts/calendar at home?

2. if so, where can I download a program to do this that works with Vista?

Cheers.

Bobby

bobby,

Try this link, its the desktop manager 4.3 software.

RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting

I have this installed running vista32bit on a laptop w my curve.

After you install, connect your bb, run the desktop manager and click on synchronize; check the box that says 'synchronize organizer data', click the configuration tab, and you should see it in there.

good luck

Before you do the download, make sure there are no IT Policies preventing you from connecting to your home PC. Many companies "lock down" the BB's for security reasons and they have the right to do so, since they are paying the bill.

Also keep in mind that all of your personal info will also sync to your company info and everything will be merged. The company also has the right to look at whatever you do with the BB including email. Not saying they do or they will, just saying they have that right to do if they choose. It is their device.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Also, I believe that in order to sync using the Desktop Manager (if their is nothing disabling that or rules stating you cannot) you will need to temporarily disable wireless synchronization. The option is located in Calendar > Options and Address Book > Options.(As well as for Tasks and Memopad if you want to sync those.) Once you are done synching then you can re-enable that option.

That link points to this file:

You have requested RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting (47144 KB)

I downloaded it (in spite of the odd name and size) and it doesn't work.
