Default Local Search now available on Blackberry Maps!

I've been tinkering around this morning with my BB and remembered that the new version OS 4.3 is supposed to have an updated maps version so I decided to check the individual version that can be downloaded from the BB website.

Yay!! It has local search on it. I got so excited I came straight here to post that I haven't had a chance to see what else is new on it. But an initial search for pizza was a success with the local pizza joints and their info on my curve.

Forgive me if this is old news but I did a search and found no topics announcing this.

Here it is BlackBerry - BlackBerry Maps

Enjoy!!

Very cool. I just upgraded to the 8800 and haven't had a chance to play with all the new features. Just tried the local search on BB Maps and it worked wonderfully. I live in a very new neighborhood area and was surprised it picked up small-time pizza places nearby.

Yes it seems to do very well for me also, it could still stand a few more options, but hey it's a step in the right direction.
