Question PDA -> BB switch HAVE QUESTION

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everybody,

I've searched through these forums and haven't found an answer to my question and beyond that I've actually searched the net, so hopefully this email doesn't result in massive flames.

I've used PDAs a lot in the past for school and work and now a lot of medical apps are coming out for the BB but my question is......How can you install applications (not media) to the media card? The default when I download OTA seems to always been the main memory? Can you put BB programs on the media card to save space?

Cheers!
Erich

Welcome to the BBForums!

You cannot install applications to the extended memory card.

You cannot install applications to the SD card in a BlackBerry.
Applications can only reside in device memory.

Right now applications can't be installed on the media card, as far as I know.

That was the answer I was afraid of. I guess for programs it's a matter of being selective.

Thanks for the fast replies!

(still happier with the BB, it's much faster for regular use than both palm and windows smartphones from my experience).

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Selective to some extent. Most programs are NOT that large.
The media card will currently hold music, video, pictures or ringtones.
