Default hide email notification on home screen?

Please Login to Remove!

i have my BB set up on my BES, but i also have enabled access to my hotmail account.

what i want, is to completely disable notification of new emails for my hotmail account. i don't want any "new mail" icon to appear at the top of the home screen (a * next to the icon on the home screen's ok tho)

ive already disabled the beeps/vibrates via the profile, but can i disable the notification icon aswell?

i want to keep the icon for my normal BES mails tho

cheers

jim

You can disable the new mail indicator, but not just for one account. If you want to disable it you would go to Messages > Options > General Options change the "Display New Message Indicator" parameter.

Hi,
I have tried this but it still shows the icon when new mail arrives. I have "Display New Message Indicator" parameter set to No. It turns off the icon but when a new message arrives it comes back!
Any ideas?
BB is 8800, s/w v 4.2.101
Thanks in advance, this is driving me crazy!

If you are talking about the number and a little envelope icon, you can using the Plazmic CDK though that means you'd have to switch to a theme that this was done to.
