Default java.io.IOException: Unable to open connection

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I use BB 7290. I have installed a application called FreeNews. When I am trying to connect to the server I get a error message
java.io.IOException: Unable to open connection.
Can anyone kindly let me know what I need to do in order to get over this?.

Yes, I use 4.0 OS. I get this error message when I am trying to get to the FreeNews server to get the update. The exact message is "Error (1) Communication error: Unable to open connection. (java.io.IOException: Unable to open connection.)

Have you tried temporarily turning off your Firewall?

Thanks for your reply. I only have one option under Firewall, thats Enable. There is no Disable option.

When you are in that menu, you can't hit the space bar to disable it?
